Thank you for your interest in DSU – De Montfort Students’ Union and our Chief Executive role.
We have made real strides in recent years, establishing good foundations and delivering some significant successes. We are excited for our future and the impact that our new Chief Executive can have in helping us shape our strategic direction and deliver a high quality students’ union which meets the needs of DMU’s students – our members. We have many of the right ingredients to realise our goals, a very ambitious university, vibrant city, capable teams, engaged students, supportive services and a major investment in our building underway.
We are continually developing our plans to reach our aspirations to be a modern, fit for purpose, flexible and capable SU which meets our students’ needs – an ever evolving member group. Our new Chief Executive will join us at a time to help shape, lead and develop DSU. We are entering a new strategic cycle and will be returning back to our refurbished building in early 2017. This will realise some of the commercial and broader opportunities available to us. We want to develop all our services – commercial and membership based. To be effective our offer to our students must be relevant, efficient, and of high quality. We want to bring new opportunities to our members and represent their views. Our members have high expectations, as does the university. We need to become more responsive to their needs, more efficient with our resources and make sure all we do makes the most of student life at DMU.
We aim to be professional and effective, without becoming corporate and losing our connection to our members. If you want to help lead and manage a passionate, progressive and sometimes challenging member-led charity that represents its members, is democratic, delivers diverse services and has a real impact, then read more about who we are, what we do and how you can make a difference.
We hope you find the information on this site useful, exciting and interesting. If you can share our desire to keep moving forward, we look forward to hearing more from you.
